The United States today
is one of the poorest nations anywhere,
perhaps anytime.
Not because we don’t have money,
but because we live under the illusion,
we believe the delusion
that money makes us rich,
that power makes us strong.
How many of us have drank the Kool-Aid?
Let us all wake up this day
and celebrate our freedom.
In this time
of all times
powerful women’s voices
are called
forth.
Great Goddess,
ancestors,
help us
all.
When you have doubts about using your own voice,
feel into your body.
Does your heart, do your guts, does your throat
experience tightness or compression?
Repressing that which must be said causes illness,
your own physical harm
in addition to the loss to society,
to your friends and family,
of your important and unique perspective.
No one else sees the world as you do.
In this time
of all times
powerful women’s voices
are called
forth.
Great Goddess,
ancestors,
help us
all.
For millennia, circumstances and dire consequences
have required women to become highly adept listeners,
honing our vocal toning and quality to such a degree that
a listening man believes our innovative thoughts arise from his mind.
It emerged from the urgent need to protect ourselves and our children,
to have our wisdom listened to and heeded.
Our concern for tribal safety far exceeded any need for recognition.
Ergo many men are convinced of their sagacity and our ignorance.
In this time
of all times
powerful women’s voices
are called
forth.
Great Goddess,
ancestors,
help us
all.
We sacrifice our time,
our relationships,
and perhaps even worse,
our integrity
as we silence ourselves,
and perhaps worst of all,
as we silence our daughters,
our friends, our colleagues.
In this time
of all times
powerful women’s voices
are called
forth.
Great Goddess,
ancestors,
help us
all.
It may come out as a bark,
a whisper,
an interruption…
We are JUST learning
to use our voices.
Please be kind,
be patient, be caring.
Please people,
don’t silence your sisters…
Lift them up!
In this time
of all times
powerful women’s voices
are called
forth.
Great Goddess,
ancestors,
help us
all.
Take time for honest self-reflection.
Am I in a relationship (or perhaps many relationships)
In which I silence my voice?
If so, I am not the one to be advising others
about how to use her voice
for my fear, instilled in our culture and my upbringing,
will limit rather than expand,
will emphasize “listening” rather than speaking.
“Listening,” yes a skill, yet often a euphemism for silencing.
In this time
of all times
powerful women’s voices
are called
forth.
Great Goddess,
ancestors,
help us
all.
If we have doubts about another’s voice,
if we want to shut them down,
let us ask questions rather than pass judgement.
“Tell me more about that…”
“Where are you feeling that in your body?”
“How long have you been aware of this?”
In this time
of all times
powerful women’s voices
are called
forth.
Great Goddess,
ancestors,
help us
all.
Ah, and then there is the bluster,
the lies, the taunting, the meanness
that currently seem more American
than apple pie.
Even in those who spew
I beseech you to witness the fear
that hides beneath the anger,
the terror that cloaks the loving hearts.
These too are waiting to be freed.
In this time
of all times
powerful women’s voices
are called
forth.
Great Goddess,
ancestors,
help us
all.
Women’s bodies hold the story of generations of motherhood.
Together our voices and actions can recall and re-establish practices
that eradicate the tantrums, denigrating and cruel behavior
currently tolerated and even rewarded.
When we use our voices without shame or blame,
acknowledging our role in this dystopian pattern of behavior,
our sons, partners, fathers will listen and shift.
In this time
of all times
powerful women’s voices
are called
forth.
Great Goddess,
ancestors,
help us
all.
Please take time for honest self-reflection.
Do I too respond to hatred with hatred?
Take a moment and wonder why,
wonder how, wonder what
injury inspired such venom?
A loving eye sees the wounded child,
makes the connections
that heals the broken heart,
that frees the loving voice.
Your eye,
your voice,
your power:
Use them for good.
Let us all wake up this day
and celebrate our freedom.
In this time
of all times
powerful women’s voices
are called
forth.
Great Goddess,
ancestors,
help us
all.

At this turning point in our human history, I’m so grateful for the loud, proud female voices leading our European Parliament and countries. My god, they are brave!
38.5% of the European Parliament are Women With Big Voices! I’m so proud 😊
